- the branch of biology that deals with the relations of organisms to one another and to their physical surroundings.
There are may different types of ecosystems in the world. they are mostly caused by temperature change and rainfall. The amount of rain an area receives is dependent on how close or far it is from the equator. the closer it is the hot equator the less it will rain, but the more water will evaporate. The cloud will then move to a cooler climate and will rain, creating a wet environment.
Many types of animals live in each biome. This is because they are well adapted to the climate and have a food source that thrives in the biome as well. This of course causes competition for food. Animals who live and thrive in the same pond or tree are part of a niche. Some animals from relationships with other animals and parasites. The Snowy owl lives in the arctic and in most places a tundra. Its niche is a tree, where it eats lemmings and mice, competing with other owls. it is on the top of the food change by being a trophic eater. This means that it eats things that eat other things.
