Owls are predators and are therefor incredible hunters. They hunt during the day and use their incredible hearing as an aid. Snowy Owls are equipped with long flexible wing feathers allowing almost silent flying. Stiff feathers surrounding owls eyes directs sound waves directly to there ears, which are at different heights to collect sounds from different altitudes.
Humans have a fairly simple digestion system. we eat to gain nutrients and from this make energy. food enters the body and under gos chemical and physical digestion. As it enters the small intestine nutrients in the food is absorbed by small finger like structures. The nutrients are diffused into the bloodstream and into all the cells in your body and meet with oxygen to make atp and fuel your body
Birds need to be light in order to be able to fly, because of this they must only eat a specific proportion of their body weight.the digestive system of birds have adapted to become efficient and light as possible. Teeth and limited jaw muscles make bird especially light. Owls digest food by swallowing their prey. Small animals are swallowed whole while larger animals are torn to pieces. It is sent directly esophagus and into the proventriculus, where chemical digestion takes place this is the first stomach of an owl. the second stomach is called the gizzard, which grinds the food in to pieces and is sent to the intestines. Then into the cloaca, a holding area for wastes and products from the digestive and urinary systems. Fur and bones are sent back up through the esophagus and regurgitated as a pellet.
