Weight: 3.5 - 6.5 pounds
Average lifespan in wild: 9.5 years
Group Name: solitary
Seeping Patterns: diurnal (sleep and hunt in both times of day)
Habitat: Arctic regions
The snowy owl does not have the eyesight required for hunting in low light conditions. Instead they have a pattern of feathers surrounding their eyes that direct sound waves directly to the ear canals enhancing sound and increasing chance of catching prey.
